On September 20, 2008, Community Network Services, Inc. will be holding a 5k Run/Walk fundraiser - "Stomp Out Stigma" to support the continuation of our award winning CNS Anti-Stigma program.
The Anti-Stigma Program has been instrumental in providing education to over 3,000 people in the State of Michigan about mental health issues including the devastating effects that stigma can have on the quality of life for individuals and families.
Our program is honored to have garnered so much local and national recognition. Some of the awards we have won include:
* Lilly Reintegration Award for Advocacy - 2006
* Michigan Department of Community Health Director's Award for Rights and Innovation -2007
* Oakland County Community Mental Health Stigma Buster's Award 2007
* SAMSHA - Voice Awards - Honorable Mention for Documentary Film
We are asking for your support in making this fundraising event a success.
There multiple ways to help:
1. Run or walk in the event and raise money via pledges.
2. Provide sponorship for the event.
3. Have your office, congregation or civic group run/walk as a team as raise money.
5K Run on paved trail thru picturesque Independence Oaks park Trophies to the top 5 finishers. Champion Chip timing.
5k Walk to fund the current CNS anti-stigma program- which strives to decrease stigma related to mental health issues by educating the public.
Race Registration from 8:00 - 8:45 AM . Race starts promptly at 9:00 AM. |
